You just found out you’re HIV positive.

First and foremost, you are NOT alone!

DC Young Poz Socials is a group of over 400 guys in the D.C. area just like you. Some have been positive for a very long time and others, like you, were diagnosed recently. Each and every member understands what you are going through right now.

If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact the moderators at info@dcyngpozsocials.com, or send a message out to the group on yahoo after you become a member. You may do so anonymously.

We hope the information you find here will help you in your understanding of living with HIV. There is so much information to be found in cyberspace, we’ve tried to consolidate and filter some of it for you. Take the information in bits and pieces and remember not to get overwhelmed. You may read some stuff that is really scary, don’t be afraid to ask questions and talk things over with your doctor and/or with friends or members of this group.

Finally, come to one of our socials or events. You will quickly learn that living with HIV, while rough at times, is manageable. You will realize there are hot guys out there who are poz (or not), are single and dateable; it is not tattooed on your forehead; you do not have to talk about it all the time; and you've got friends ready to support you.

You will come to know that it is OK to enjoy life!
